Initiatives in U.S. Law Firms to help women lawyers achieve their potential

Following on from my report of the conference of English lawyers “Opening Doors and Removing Glass Ceilings – Widening Participation in the Legal Professions” yesterday (http://halebury.passle.net/post/102cuzr/success-in-legal-careers-for-those-who-arent-privileged-white-men) I am pleased to come across this article by Pamela DeNeuve on efforts to achieve gender equity in the U.S. Recommended reading.

I have found that incorporating a gender equity plan in a firm is as simple as the entire firm putting on a new pair of glasses. Suddenly firm management sees a plethora of opportunities to move women up the ranks that previously would not have been noticed. When the goals are manageable and achievable; it engenders an enthusiasm within the firm.
