The quote used as this blog’s title is adapted from a line by writer Virginia Woolf, epitomising the place of women’s stories in the historical record.

In celebration of Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day 2022, we highlight several female Elevate Experts who are stepping into the spotlight to share their valuable knowledge with the greater legal industry.

From discussions on the evolving legal service landscape to understanding how journey mapping can deliver a better customer experience, our Experts share their wisdom, guidance, and goals in creating a stronger future for all.

Legalweek, March 8-11, 2022

During this year’s Legalweek conference, Nancy Scott participated in The New Wave of Client Service: Collaboration and Key Roles.

Client service continues to be a highly contested issue amongst both in-house counsel and law firm professionals. It will only continue to dominate conversations as the legal service landscape evolves. The ideal law firm empowers its clients to tackle legal issues seamlessly, and therefore, it is essential law firms simplify legal issues and explain legal and lawyer processes.

This session focused on the current expectations in client service, the importance of client feedback and data analytics, and how the practice of law will shift as demands change.

Lizzie Christmas presented as part of a panel in Keep Up If You Can: The Evolving Legal Service Landscape.

The staggering impact of the coronavirus pandemic spurred abrupt and unanticipated changes and adaptations throughout the legal industry. COVID changed client expectations, budgets, and needs, and the legal sector faces a constant battle to evolve and meet client demands.

This session took a closer look at the legal services landscape, identifying the key players, highlighting new trends, and providing an outlook on the future of legal services.

LMA Annual Conference, March 21-23, 2022

At this year’s upcoming LMA22 Conference, Nicole Auerbach joins the panel Going All-In on the Client Experience — Using Client Journey Mapping to Deliver a Better Client Experience and Drive Revenues on a Small Budget.

This program focuses on new ways to lead through change, become strategic advisors, and inspire teams. Participants will learn concrete, proven leadership best practices and tactics while actively engaging in peer discussions to “crowdsource” wisdom and experiences for post-program implementations.

Kunoor Chopra will discuss What Are ALSPs and What Are the Threats? And What Might Be the Opportunities?

It is almost a cliché at this point to say that customers are under pressure to “do more with less.” Solutions include finding and building new legal service delivery models. The most common strategy is to send work to alternative legal service providers (ALSPs). According to recent research, 82% of law departments now send at least some work to ALSPs.

This panel will define ALSPs, differentiate the different types, and discuss the types of work ripe for moving to ALSPs to help attendees evaluate the extent to which ALSPs are a threat – and the extent to which ALSPs are opportunities to be leveraged.
