How to make agile/flexible work for everyone?

October 30, 2015

We look at the whole proposition – it is a 360 view and everything is tailored to meet the central goal. Agile/flexible working has to work for the individual, the company’s operation and the client. We have made it work by creating a different model, structurally but also in terms of remuneration and how we value output.

Flexible and agile working is possible even in a traditional market place like the legal profession. We just need to think outside the box to make it effective.

That said, just as it takes a certain type of business to embrace flexible working, so too does it take a certain type of individual to make agile working work, and this has affected how we recruit.

The individuals we hire do not need to be micro-managed but are instead self-starters. Aligning remuneration with outputs rather than the hours they have worked requires individuals who are disciplined, organised and highly motivated.
