7 More Pieces of Advice for a New General Counsel
July 08, 2015
Marc E. Manly’s second post focusses closely on the role of a GC in a listed PLC. It still has some useful advice for GCs of unlisted companies particularly the idea of creating an independent relationship with the board and becoming a consigliere (a trusted adviser and confidant) to the CEO.
If the previous post sounded at times like an introductory course, this is closer to an advanced-level seminar, complete with principles that often will be hard to achieve and in some instances should be considered aspirational.
