Founder and ChairmanLiam has spent over twenty years providing consulting, technology and services to law firms and Global 1000 corporate legal departments. As an advisor and consultant, Liam has guided law firm leaders and general counsel through a variety of strategic decisions focused on improving effectiveness and efficiency. In 2011 he founded Elevate, a next generation legal service provider with the mission to help law firms and corporate legal departments operate more effectively. Previously he was the Founder, President and CEO of Integreon, Inc., which he led from startup in 2001 to annual sales of nearly $150 million by 2011, before he sold his stake to private equity investors in order to launch Elevate. Under his leadership, Integreon pioneered the global delivery of legal, research and business services to 32 of the 50 leading global law firms, all of the top 10 global investment banks, 9 of the top 10 life sciences companies, 6 of the top 10 technology companies and 17 of the top 50 global brands. Prior to Integreon, Liam was the President, COO and co-founder of Conscium, Inc., a leading Web 1.0 virtual deal room business serving lawyers and bankers, which he sold in 2001 to then-NYSE-listed Bowne & Co. (now RR Donnelley Venue) and NASDAQ-listed Merrill Corp (now Merrill DataSite). Liam is a frequent speaker at legal conferences and regularly publishes articles about trends in the legal sector. He is also an active investor in Web 2.0 and Cloud technologies in the legal sector, and an executive coach for founders of startups.
VP Strategic AccountsKunoor works closely with Elevate’s strategic accounts to identify and implement solutions, and to ensure continuous improvement throughout the lifecycle of the relationship. Previously Kunoor was the Founder, President and CEO of LawScribe, a pioneer legal process outsourcing company providing litigation, corporate, and intellectual property support services to law firms and corporations. Kunoor founded LawScribe in 2004 to provide a solution to rising costs and fees associated with the legal practice. LawScribe was acquired in 2010 by UnitedLex, where Kunoor continued as Senior Vice President of Global Legal Services, working closely with her AmLaw100 and global 1000 clients to identify and implement legal solutions. Kunoor is a recognized authority in the area of legal process outsourcing, and she speaks internationally on topics including the ethical implications of outsourcing and legal innovation. She serves on the Board of Governors for the Organization of Legal Professionals as well as the Board of Directors for the Library Foundation of Los Angeles. Prior to LawScribe, Kunoor practiced as an attorney at Nossaman and at Fulbright & Jaworski in Los Angeles.
PresidentJohn has twenty five years experience managing client relationships in the legal and financial sectors, helping clients capture value from the way they buy and deliver services. Prior to Elevate, John served as President at Integreon, where he led new business development efforts and managed existing clients on a global basis. During this time he grew the company’s revenue from $12 million in 2005 to $150 million in 2011. Previously, he was CEO of the financial and legal outsourcing division of ADP Inc. Before that, John was European sales director for the financial and legal division of St. Ives Plc.
Director, Legal Business SolutionsJack heads Elevate’s EMEA legal consulting practice. He joined Elevate Services in 2014 from Barclays where he led the strategic change agenda for their global in-house legal department. Previously Jack worked as a strategy consultant for over 15 years in the financial services sector, initially for PwC Consulting and subsequently specializing in legal services as a partner at a boutique consulting firm. Jack has worked extensively with magic and silver circle law firms and major in-house legal departments. His experience covers both the development of in-house operating models for legal practice areas and operations teams, as well as extensive experience in all aspects of external counsel management. He also has experience setting up shared service centers onshore and offshore). All his work is grounded in an understanding of the change management required in a legal services environment to successfully implement new models.
Nancy Fraser Michalski, RN
VP Med Legal ServicesNancy founded and served as CEO of Med Legal Consulting Source for 12 years, before brokering the company’s acquisition by Elevate to establish our Med Legal Services. She strategically leads this service line and also testifies in state and federal court on issues involving the reasonable value of medical care. Nancy received her bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, is certified in Healthcare Management and Development from the University of Southern California and is a Certified Professional Medical Auditor. She served as Director of Medical Billing and Surgical Services for an outpatient surgical center and medical clinic for 17 years. As a registered nurse for over 30 years, she has assisted in more than 10,000 surgeries. Nancy is involved with the American Academy of Professional Coders, the American Health Information Management Association, the Healthcare Financial Management Association, the American Association of Medical Audit Specialists, and she sits on the Oversight Committee of LEDES, the global non-profit organization that sets the standards and codes for the electronic exchange of billing information between law firms and corporations.
Chief Operating OfficerAnurag was previously at Integreon, where he was India Country Head and Global Head of Quality and Continuous Improvement. As Country Head, he was responsible for Integreon’s India P&L, people, process and technology, managing the organic growth of the India operations from 40 employees in 2003 to 1,200 employees in 2012. Anurag built and operated scale offshore operations across all of Integreon’s business lines for global law firms, investment banks and multinational corporations. As Global Head of Quality and Continuous Improvement, Anurag was responsible for implementing and maintaining all of Integreon’s continuous improvement systems and certifications, including global ISO 27001 information security certification, global ISO 9001 quality certification and Integreon’s global Lean Six Sigma program. Prior to Integreon, Anurag was the Co-founder and Director of Technology and Operations at Contentscape Inc. which was acquired by Integreon in January of 2003. Early in his career, Anurag was part of the Indian Civil Services. He is a merit holder Computer Science Engineering graduate from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi.
VP Procurement ServicesTariq is responsible for designing, delivering and managing procurement services to law firms. Previously he was Chief Procurement Officer and Head of Procurement Solutions at Integreon. Tariq has twenty-five years of experience enhancing supplier management and improving third party relationships in the legal and financial services industries. He has developed a reputation as a thought leader and a leading practitioner of procurement strategy, having reduced several clients’ procurement costs by over 50% and delivered double-digit sourcing savings. His recent track record of success at law firms includes reducing a five-year $75 million overhead spend by $12 million for two leading UK law firms. Tariq holds a Master’s degree in Law from Cambridge University and an LLM from Suffolk University.
Chief Financial and Administrative OfficerRichard has 30 years of experience as a CFO of high-growth, public and private, technology and technology-enabled services companies. Most recently he was CFO and CAO at Integreon during the company’s growth from annual sales of $32m in 2008 to almost $150m in 2011. Previously he was CFO at HireRight, Teradata, and Quotron Systems. He has extensive experience financing growth, having led numerous underwritten public offerings (both IPO and secondary), private placements (both debt and equity), and lines of credit. Richard also has significant M&A, global investor relations, HR, and legal experience having headed the legal departments of several large public companies and in his role as general counsel of two companies.
VP and Managing Director, Australia and Asia PacificJames brings to Elevate significant front-line experience managing major international law firms across developed and emerging markets, having been based previously in London, Hong Kong, and Singapore. Prior to Elevate James was at Baker & McKenzie, where he was COO responsible for the delivery of all business services functions to the practice in South East Asia and Australia. During that period, Baker & McKenzie was recognized for excellence in South East Asia by Chambers, named ‘Law Firm / Legal Advisor Of The Year’ by the Financial Times and Mergermarket, and named Australia’s ‘International Firm Of the Year’ by Australian Legal Business. Prior to Baker & McKenzie, James served on Linklaters’ central Strategy and Planning team, advising the Firm’s global executive committee during a period of post-merger consolidation and rapid profitability growth.
VP Legal Business SolutionsPratik leads Elevate’s consulting practice focused on design, development and delivery of practical solutions to help corporate law departments and government agencies reduce legal spend, and help law firms improving profitability through use of value-based pricing (AFAs). Pratik joined Elevate as part of the acquisition of RFx LEGAL Analytics in 2012, prior to which he served as a founding member and partner at RFx LEGAL, a leading provider of legal spend management, analytics and sourcing intelligence solutions, which he led from inception to becoming a recognized legal spend management provider. Prior to RFx LEGAL, Pratik served as a senior managing consultant at Huron Legal, where he played a key role in the rapid growth of Huron’s Legal consulting practice. During his time at Huron Legal, Pratik worked closely with Fortune 500 General Counsel, Law Department Managers and Legal Finance Managers to develop strategic roadmaps for enhancing various areas of their legal operations, including outside counsel management, law firm sourcing and selection, legal matter management, e-billing, contract lifecycle management, legal holds, e-discovery and document management.
Howard 'Bud' Phillips
Chief Information OfficerBud has over 25 years’ experience integrating technology, operations, and strategy. Most recently, as CIO for Am Law firm LeClairRyan, he transformed the firm’s legacy IT architecture to a virtualized, secure, and cost-efficient system, harnessing Infrastructure as a Service cloud computing technology, to support rapid firm growth. At Capital One, Phillips led the customer acquisition operations group, achieving significant gains in quality, capacity and cost-effectiveness by applying Agile and Lean leadership and management principles. Prior to that, as a management consultant at Deloitte Consulting and Monitor Group, Phillips advised many large corporate clients on industry evolution, cost reduction, acquisition strategy, market positioning and competitive intelligence.
VP Business DevelopmentMark’s key role at Elevate includes building client relationships and integrating acquisitions. He has been growing new business and developing transformational solutions for over 25 years, with a focus on new markets and expansion—most notably Australia. Mark’s experience includes both sales and operations management, and he has supported a broad range of clients from AmLaw 100 law firms, Fortune 1000 corporate legal departments, consulting firms and financial institutions. Mark was previously at Integreon, where he served as Senior Vice President of Business Solutions, providing lawyers and corporate leaders with strategies and resources to achieve higher productivity while managing costs. Mark’s solutions have helped clients reallocate high-volume, standardized tasks including compliance, document review, e-discovery and contract management, thus enabling legal professionals to focus on providing high value services and improving operational efficiency.
VP Human Resources and Learning & DevelopmentJoyce was previously at Integreon, where she built the global Learning and Development function across multiple solutions and locations. Based in New York today, she was initially based in Mumbai, India from 2003 until 2007, where she was a member of the global executive management team that grew the company from 100 to over 2,000 employees. During this time she led a global team of 30 involved in promoting Integreon’s value proposition with clients; implemented new solutions and client centers at delivery sites in the UK, US, India and the Philippines; built on-boarding programs, and defined workflow, success measures, and SLAs. She created systematic talent management processes including standardized curriculum development, certification programs and learning effectiveness measures, mentoring, professional development and middle management training programs to improve retention and develop new leaders.
VP and Managing Director, PhilippinesJoeri has 18 years of experience in managing offshore service centers, HR process implementation, and large team management, as well as consulting and practicing in the area of labor law. Prior to joining Elevate, Joeri was at Baker & McKenzie, the world largest law firm with the largest captive offshore service center in the legal industry. In his role as Executive Director of the service center, Joeri was responsible for offshore service delivery to Baker & McKenzie firms around the world. He promoted outsourcing within the global network of the firm, and held local P&L responsibility for the facility. Under Joeri’s management, the firm’s delivery center in Manila grew to 630 people, servicing 42 countries in 6 languages. Prior to Baker & McKenzie, Joeri set up the APAC service center in Manila for global payroll provider NorthgateArinso. As a lawyer, Joeri previously worked as an employment law specialist at Ernst & Young Belgium and Belgium-based boutique social law firm Van Eeckhoutte Taquet Clesse.
Chief Executive OfficerLokendra has twenty years of experience managing global operations and business strategy. Most recently he was COO and Head of Corporate Strategy at Integreon, which he helped grow from $20 million in 2006 to nearly $150 million in revenue by 2011. Previously, Lokendra led Strategy & Corporate Development and M&A at MphasiS, now part of Hewlett Packard, where he completed several acquisitions and established their Research and Analytics business in India. He was also instrumental in building and managing Research and Analytics capabilities for Adventity, now part of Sutherland Global Services. Lokendra is an alumni of Harvard Business School Advanced Management Program, a merit-holder engineering graduate from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) and he holds an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM).
